You got 'endless love' tattooed on you? They constantly fade. Finger tattoos aren't a smart place to get tattoos. I just wanted to get mine anyway. It's just one of those places really. It's always going to look like faded shit to be honest.

I love this! And thanks for the sort of before/after pictures. I've been reading up on the pros and cons of getting your finger tattooed and I came across this page. I'll definitely be getting mine done soon! I have semi-bad handwriting but I'm going to try to write mine out too that way it's more unique, but I want mine on my left inner ring finger... I think. :)
Thanks again! :)

No problem. Yeah it's a pain how they fade so much, but I still love mine. It's probably my favourite tattoo actually and has the most meaning too :)

I wasn't thinking you would. I don't care if people get the same wording coz I've seen it around anyway. And people can't really copy the writing because it doesn't exist as a computer font.

How was the healing process for this? I am getting writing along the side of my middle finger, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to aid the healing process. I'm aware that finger tattoos heal differently and are more prone to fading than normal tattoos, so I want to do as much as possible to ensure that it heals the best it can. I was considering getting a splint or something to keep me from bending my finger, but not sure if I can find one that won't rub the tattoo. Did you do anything special to help the healing process?

Well as you know, finger tattoos are prone to fade. And fade A LOT. They are one of the worst places to get tattoos (in terms of fading), so don't get unless you're prepared for it to fade a lot. Many people's finger tattoos fade so much that the writing dissappears. The tattoist said I was very lucky and even mine faded a lot.

And on the note of healing there's nothing I really did to help it heal better because generally with tattoos all you really need to o it keep it out of the sun and out of the water, and that's I did. There's nothing more to it really. I don't think the splint would help because bending your finger won't affect healing and also don't worry about your other finger rubbing it and fading your new tattoo because tattoos go deep into your skin. Remember tattoos aren't like texters or pens. They're permenant. As I said just make sure you stay out of the water because this can put your tattoo at risk of obtaining too much moisture. It's likley to happen if you go in the water too much while it's still healing (because a healing tattoo is considered an open wound). Showers are fine of course but avoid swimming for the next month. Not much else you can do.

The first time mine healed the tattoo faded quite a some of the letter were dissappearig almost. The best thing I can recomend to keep your tattoo looking great is once it's healed and faded heaps just go and get it touched up :)

This picture was when I got the tattoo done. I'll link you to a picture of what it looks like now to hopefully give you and idea of what yours might look like once it's healed.

<----- this is what it looks like now that it's been touched up (once on the word 'endless' and twice on the word 'love') and it's fully healed. It's greyer but the words don't dissapear anymore. I'm pretty hapy with it. Sorry about that essay of any answer. Terribly long.

And here's a picture of what it looked like before I got the second touch up on the second word 'love' see how it's a lot more faded.

Nah the finger tattoo didn't hurt that much, but just be aware finger tattoos fade lots. They are prone to. Your tattoo artist will probably tell you that anyway. Like my has faded to grey

Ok honestly it hurts a bit, but not too bad. I would describe is as someone scratching into skin really. It does hurt at some points when is hits sensitive spots, but you get used to it and its fine. You just have to hang in there. And they are really small tattoo's so it wont last for long.

So your getting this exact tattoo next year? I don't care if you write the same thing as I did, (as I've seen this tattoo before myself), but may I ask that you don't copy this exact font/style of writing. I would like if you chose I different font because I wrote this one myself with a pen (then the tattoo artist put the exact stencil of the writing on it). That's the only thing I ask of if your going to get this tattoo.
And bare in mind finger tattoos are prone to fade a bit. Mine looks a bit greyer now, but I'm getting it re-outlined so the black goes darker again. Goodluck.
